ZimSculpt (Fort Worth)
Friday, June 2, 2023 | 8 AM - 6 PM. ZimSculpt features more than 100 sculptures carved from various types of stone found in Zimbabwe. Sculptors will be on-site carving statues for the duration of the exhibit. Botanic gardens are the perfect venue for sculptures, and this exhibit makes its Fort Worth premiere at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Entry is included in the price of admission to the Garden.

CHARLES M. RUSSELL: STORYTELLER ACROSS MEDIA (Fort Worth)
Friday, June 2 - Thursday, June 8, 2023 | 10 AM - 5 PM. At the heart of Charles Marion Russell’s art is storytelling. Over his more than forty-year career, Russell chronicled his beloved west through the stories he told across paper, canvas, bronze, and truly any material he could find. While Russell made art that was for sale, he also made many works that were intended for close friends, as well as thank you notes for both gifts and hospitality received on travels. A group of works made specifically as part of his friendship with certain individuals will be featured in the exhibit including the artist’s sketch box and a sculpture self-portrait made of wax and mixed media.

The matter is considerably complicated by the man's mother, his boss, a visiting bank inspector, a police superintendent, and a muddled friend who does everything wrong in his reluctant efforts to set everything right, all of which works up to a hilarious ending of closed or slamming doors.
